Colmcille produced an amazing comeback to edge Mostrim and advance to the Longford semi-finals.
Last year’s Longford finalists found the net three times in the first-half but it was Colmcille who battled back for victory.
Darragh Doherty and Seamus Hannon both found the Colmcille net inside 10 minutes. Hannon’s second goal on 25 minutes put Mostrim 3-2 to eight points up at half-time.
However Colmcille’s Jack Macken was in outstanding form and scored eight points (five frees) as Colmcille bounced back in the second-half.
As Colmcille’s defence tightened up Mostrim only managed three second-half points as Colmcille won out 15 points to 3-5 (14).
Colmcille advance to the semi-final and will face Rathcline or Longford Slashers next Sunday September 25.
