Colmcille reached the Longford senior football semi-finals following a comfortable victory over St Mary’s Granard.
The defending champions were the superior side overall and claimed a 1-14 to 1-8 victory in the end.
Colmcille led 1-9 to 1-3 at half-time. Micheal Hynes registered a goal for Granard ten minutes in, Cathal Reilly replied with one for Colmcille ten minutes later.
Colmcille began the second half impressively. Fergal Sheridan made it a ten-point game eight minutes into the second half.
Granard were handed a minor boost when Colmcille’s Ruairi Harkin missed a penalty nine minutes from time.
Colmcille didn’t suffer however, they held on for a six-point victory in the end and will face Killoe in the last four.
