The Breffni county board are looking to restore the pre-season tournaments

Connacht GAA secretary John Prenty says they would support reversing the decision to axe pre-season competitions. A Cavan motion to restore pre-season games in the 2025 calendar will be discussed at a Central Council meeting on Saturday. Mr Prenty has told The Irish Independent that they will need to cut the ground rental payable to counties for next season's provincial Football Championship if the Connacht Football League is not restored. Aidan O'Shea believes there is too much of a focus on offering more scoring opportunities within the new rules being proposed for Gaelic football. The Mayo star lined out at midfield for Connacht in the inter-pro games at Croke Park at the weekend, testing the Football Review Committee's 'rules enhancements.' Among the proposals are a new two-point score, and a rule requiring 3 players from each team to be each half at all times.
