Longford Town put a dent in Cork City’s title hopes drawing 2-2 in Turner’s Cross.
Longford had led twice, but the full-time title chasing hosts fought back to earn a share of the spoils.
Town took the lead on 14 minutes. Dylan Barnett found himself unmarked from a corner. 25-yards from goal Barnett’s first time shot found the top corner.
City equalised 14 minutes into the second-half. Town keeper Luke Dennison had produced a magnificent save to stop Barry Coffey.
From the corner-kick, Cian Coleman rattled the crossbar from a loose ball with Coffey following up from close range.
Town were back in front on 65 minutes. Jordan Adeyemo produced a text book header to finish off Barnett’s left wing cross.
City weren’t done however and the host’s found a second equaliser eight minutes from time. Coffey with his second finishing off a loose ball from a long throw-in.
A well-deserved draw for two as it finished 2-2.
