Craig Rahill has been announced as the Billy Coleman young rally driver of the year. The Cavan man picked up the prestigious award at the Motorsport Ireland annual presentations at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Dublin. As part of the award, Rahill will receive support to the value of up to €50,000 from Motorsport Ireland and Sport Ireland for the 2025 season as well as a up to further €50,000 has been pledged by the Team Ireland Foundation thanks to support from John Coyne. Speaking after been announced as the winner the Ford Fiesta R4 driver who claimed the Junior titles in the national rally championship as well as in the forestry championship and the MI Junior rally series remarked it was an honour to claim the award
Other accolades handed out on the day seen Monaghan motor club picking up a Presidents award for "Youth encouragement", while Caroline Mc Guinness was honoured with a F.I.A Volunteer pin for her contribution to the sport. Derek and Andy Mackeral were formally crowned the Irish forestry and national night navigation champions respectively while Shane and Ciaran Maguire took home the National Endurance trial silverware and Josh Moffett was the Irish national rally champion. Other winners on the day were Wicklow's Max Hart who took home the coveted Sexton trophy and was named the Young Racing driver of the year while Alex Dunne who is currently involved in the F1 development programme with McLaren was the recipient of the Manley memorial trophy as the international racing driver of the year.
