Elphin claimed the Roscommon intermediate title with an eight point victory over Strokestown.
Fintan Cregg landed 1-5 as Elphin took out powered the 2022 senior champions to the intermediate title.
Elphin were three points to no score ahead after 10 minutes. Aaron Brady (45), Shane Killoran and Gavin Murray with Elphin’s scores.
Diarmuid McGann opened Strokestown account on 14 minutes. However, Fintan Cregg restored the three point advantage three minutes later.
Eight minutes before half-time Elphin found the net. Shane Killoran taking advantage of a defensive mix-up to find the net.
Another McGann free and a Shane McGinley free had Strokestown trailing 1-4 to three points at half-time.
A long range McGinley free, Kevin Finn from play and a McGann free had Strokestown just one point behind, four minutes after the restart. A Finn point from play had the game all square on 42 minutes.
However, the Strokestown joy was short lived. Fintan Cregg responded with a free before palming the ball to the net on 47 minutes. 2-5 to 0-7.
In fact, Strokestown would bother the score keepers for the games remainder. Two Cregg points, one from play and one free plus Evan Gunn from play wrapped up the cup.
Cregg added a late score for good measure as Elphin won out 2-9 to seven points.
