Leitrim got off to a flying start in Allianz Football league division four by beating Waterford 2-17 to 1-5 at Dungarvan.
Just five points separated the sides at the break and a superb second-half display saw Leitrim run out convincing winners.
Leitrim started with intent leading 0-3 to no score inside nine minutes. Shane Quinn opened the visitors' account three minutes in before Darragh Rooney added two more points.
Michael Curry got Waterford off the mark on 16 minutes. Eight minutes later, Jack Foley gave Leitrim a five-point cushion.
The sides traded a point each during the remainder of the half as Andy Moran's men led 0-7 to 0-2 at the interval.
Darragh Rooney dominated the scoring for the visitors with ten points overall. Rooney amassed four points within as many minutes of the restart as Leitrim led 0-11 to 0-2.
On 44 minutes, Waterford ended a period of 21 minutes without scoring as Dermot Ryan slotted over a point.
Leitrim's Evan Sweeney found the net on 50 minutes. 60 seconds later, Alan Dunwoody replied with a goal for Waterford but the visitors still led 1-12 to 1-3.
Pearse Dolan pushed Leitrim 11 points clear heading into injury time. Riordan O'Rourke registered their second goal right at the death as Andy Moran's men claimed a comprehensive victory.
