The IRFU has confirmed the appointment of former Ulster and Ireland out-half David Humphreys as their new performance director.
Humphreys succeeds the outgoing David Nucifora, who will depart the role at the end of the current season.
The Ulster man will join the IRFU in March 2024 as performance director designate. Three months later, he’ll assume full responsibility.
Humphreys made 72 appearances for Ireland scoring 560 points. In 1999, he captained Ulster to the European Cup.
Since retiring as a player, Humphreys has served as Director of Rugby for both Ulster and Gloucester.
Whereas, the 52-year-old is currently the director of performance operations with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
