Reports say Dessie Dolan looks set to be appointed Westmeath senior football manager tonight.
Dolan's name will be put forward to the Westmeath GAA executive and will then be referred to a full county board meeting for ratification.
The former All Star forward served as a selector under previous manager Jack Cooney and will assume his first management job if successfully ratified.
Westmeath's only dual All Star winner John Keane served as a selector under Cooney and he's expected to remain part of Dolan's management ticket.
Cooney stepped down after the Lake County won the inaugural Tailteann Cup triumph and has since been appointed as the GAA's National Player Development Lead.
