Dessie Dolan has stepped down as Westmeath senior football manager.
Dolan spent two years in charge, leading them to promotion to Division Two of the Allianz Football League this year.
However, Westmeath lost a preliminary round Leinster Championship tie to Wicklow. It was expected that Dolan would continue as manager after leading the team into Division 2 of the Allianz League, and players had anticipated that he would remain on.
Whereas, the Allianz League campaign saw promotion from the third tier. However, Westmeath found themselves in the All-Ireland round robin group with Armagh, Derry and Galway. Losing all three games.
Westmeath will now start the search for a new manager as the side faces into 2025 in Division 2.
