St. Columba’s Mullinalaghta are still looking for their first win of the Longford SFC after Dromard came-back for a draw.
The sides drew 13-points a-piece as Dromard trailed 14-man Mullinalaghta for the majority of the game.
Mullinalaghta landed the first two points of the game with Aidan McElligott and Gary Rogers putting Mullinalaghta two points ahead after three minutes.
Dromard responded with four points in a row. Two each from James Martin and Francis McGee (1 free) after 11 minutes.
Within five minutes, Mullinalaghta were level points from Michael Cunningham and a Jason Matthews free. A classy Emmet Brady score from his left and a Donal McElligott free had Mullinalaghta six points to four ahead three minutes before half-time.
Dromard responded with two points before the break from Francis McGee and Diarmuid Masterson to level the scores. Niall Woods landed the final score of the half as Mullinalaghta led seven points to six at half-time.
A Jason Matthews free had Mullinalaghta two clear a minute into the second-half.
Sending off changes game
However, the game swung with an incident on 39 minutes. A clash between Bernard Sheridan and Shane Mulligan saw Dromard man Sheridan receive a yellow card. Indeed, referee Patrick Maguire showed Mulligan the line for an alleged head butt.
14-man Mullinalaghta stayed strong, a Jason Matthews free two minutes later moving them three points clear. Dromard responsed through a Masterson fisted point which took a deflection off a defender before going over.
Conor McElligott and Masterson (mark) exchanges scores before a good score from distance from Emmet Brady had Mullinalaghta 11 points to eight ahead with 12 minutes remaining.
Dromard started to use the ball and the extra-man. The lead was down to one points three minutes later after a Martin free and Aaron Farrell scoring from play.
A Matthews free restored the Mullinalaghta advantage to two, with six minutes remaining. However the influential Farrrell added two points to square the game with two minutes to play.
Matthews put Mullinalaghta back in-front in the final moment, before Sheridan levelled the game in the next play.
Ronan Bleakley spurned the chance to give Dromard victory in injury time as the sides drew 13 points each.
Elsewhere in group B, Abbeylara score an important win over Longford Slashers. Whereas, Carrickedmond surprised Clonguish on Wednesday night.
