Roscommon county board have appointed Seamus Qualter as hurling team manager until the end of the season.
Qualter takes over from Frances O’Halloran who resigned after the Roscommon’s shock Allianz league defeat to Louth last week.
This will be Qualter’s second spell in charge of Roscommon having managed the team in first spell in 2009.
In 2012 Qualter led Roscommon to an U21 All-Ireland B title. Roscommon also landed four Connacht U21 titles under his reign.
Qualter led Westmeath to Christy Ring Cup triumphs in 2005 and 2007.
The Galway native faces a tough challenge revitalising Roscommon in Allianz league division 3A, Roscommon having suffered a shock 2-16 to 15 point defeat to Louth.
Daithi Hand and Peter Griffin will be Qualter's coaches.
Qualter’s first game in charge is set to be the trip to Fermanagh on Sunday February 26th.
