The Roscommon hurlers had to settle for a draw in their Allianz hurling league division 3A opener against Mayo as the game ended 0-17 apiece at Castlebar.
Mayo led 0-7 to 0-5 on 31 minutes before points from Mickey Joe Egan and Eoin Fitzgerald saw Roscommon draw level by half-time; 0-7 apiece.
The Rossies started the second half impressively and Francis O’Halloran’s men moved six points clear on 50 minutes when Conor Mulry slotted over a point.
Mayo made an impressive comeback however and claimed a share of the spoils by hitting eight of the last ten scores.
