Roscommon held off a second half comeback from Louth to win 5-8 to 1-17 in their Nickey Rackard cup clash at Darver.
Roscommon led 3-6 to 0-6 at half-time; goals from Conor Mulry, Adam Donnelly and Naos Connaughton separating the sides.
Paddy Fallon’s goal three minutes into the second half pushed Roscommon 11 points clear. Louth rallied to make it a four-point game on 65 minutes.
60 seconds later, Conor Mulry added his second goal. Louth rallied once more with a goal in the dying stages but Roscommon held on for the win.
