St Brigid’s made a huge statement by recording a 4-10 to 0-8 victory over defending Roscommon senior football champions Padraig Pearses at Ballyforan.
Brigid’s completely dominated the first half and led 3-5 to 0-3 at half-time with Conor Gleeson, Ben O’Carroll (penalty) and Eddie Nolan scoring a goal each.
Ben O’Carroll registered Brigid’s fourth goal nine minutes into the second half making it a 16-point game.

Pearses finished the game by landing four of the last six points but the 17-time champions still ran out convincing winners in the end.
