Galway will only need to win 3 games to claim a Senior all Ireland football title, that is after Sligo forfeited their Connacht semi final against the Tribesmen this Saturday after a number of their panel tested positive for Covid 19.
The Yeats county board say they have taken the "tough decision" to withdraw from this weekend's game due to "unforeseen circumstances".
They have also expressed their frustration at the lack of an available re-fixture.
However Connacht GAA's CEO John Prenty says the Sligo county board did not request that the game be rearranged.
