The Roscommon minor footballers opened their Connacht championship campaign with a 3-19 to 1-12 defeat at the hands of Galway at the Tuam Stadium.
Galway led 2-9 to 1-4 at half-time; Robert Heneghan opened Roscommon's account with a goal on 11 minutes before Rory Carthy (two) Eoghan Murray, Ronan McDermott added points.
Galway were equally dominant in the second half and moved ten points clear within 12 minutes of the restart before going on to win by 13 points.
