Longford Town fell to a second straight defeat as Galway United recorded a 2-0 bank holiday Monday victory.
Second-half goals from David Hurley and Max Hemmings saw Galway to victory, as they continued their march to promotion.
Hurley opened the scoring via a 51st minute penalty. Mick McDonnell having fouled substitute Ed McCarthy. Galway added a second in the 73rd minute courtesy of Max Hemmings.

Town saw the game out with 10 men as Dean McMenamy for a second yellow card with eight minutes remaining.
