Gary Cronin has stepped down as Longford Town manager to personal career progression.
Cronin was in charge of the Town for one season, guiding the team to a play-off place. Town lost out to Galway United yesterday.
Cronin had taken over for the 2022 season after Town had a difficult season in the premier division.
Cronin made 52 appearances for Town before becoming a coach and assistant manager under Tony Cousins. The former town man managed Bray Wanderers for three-and-a-half-years before being appointed Longford Town manager in December 2021.
“Gary brought the club into another playoff this season, finishing a respectable fourth in the league, only behind full-time outfits Galway, Waterford and league winners Cork City” said a Longford town statement.
“The club would like to express our huge thanks to Gary and his backroom staff for their tremendous efforts this season”.
“We wish Gary all the best in the future”.
