Roscommon’s Hollie Kilroe took eighth place in the girl’s 400m final at the European youth Olympic festival.
Killore posted 57.54 seconds in a race that was won by Turkey’s Edanur Tulum in 54.41 seconds. It was a race were three athlete’s posted personal bests.
“There was a lot of excitement going into it” explained Kilroe, “it wasn’t the race I was expecting. But I got to a final, and not a lot of people can say that.”
Killore was also part of the Irish medley relay team which finished their heat in third place in 2:16.44, just missing out on a place in the final.
