The Ireland Women's team will take on Colombia in a behind-closed-doors game ahead of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.
Ireland will meet Colombia for the first time at senior women's level. Meakin Park, Brisbane will be the venue on Friday, July 14.
Manager Vera Pauw was keen to add one final game, against a top level opponent to the schedule. Ahead of Ireland’s World Cup opener against Australia on July 20.
Since qualifying for the World Cup last October, Ireland have already played against Morocco, Germany, China PR and USA. Games are still to come against Zambia (June 22) and France (July 6) in Tallaght Stadium.
With both teams keen to use their full quota of players, the fixture will not be classified as an official game but will serve as a competitive encounter between two teams preparing for the World Cup.
Colombia are 26th in the FIFA Women's World Rankings and were drawn into Group H in the World Cup, alongside Germany, Morocco and South Korea. This will be Colombia’s third World Cup appearance.
