Roscommon’s James Fitzpatrick has won the Connacht EirGrid U20 player of the provincial championship.
Meanwhile Liam Tully has been awarded the manager of the Connacht championship after guiding the Roscommon team to the All-Ireland final.
Jack Bryant of Offaly, David Buckley of Cork and Charlie Smyth of Down have been rewarded for their standout performances in their respective U20 provincial championships.
Offaly’s Declan Kelly, Cork’s Keith Ricken and Down’s Conor Laverty have all been named managers of their respective EirGrid U20 provincial championships.
Roscommon’s James Fitzpatrick was named EirGrid U20 Player of the Connacht Championship for his phenomenal display in the provincial final against Mayo.
Fitzpatrick was also named as the Player of the Match, assisted his squad to the provincial victory which saw the Rossie’s coming out on top against their fierce rivals.
In his second year in charge of Roscommon, Liam Tully has been named EirGrid U20 Connacht Manager of the Province for his expertise and leadership qualities that dethroned Mayo and reclaimed the Connacht title for his side.
In Leinster, Jack Bryant has been selected as the EirGrid U20 Player of the Province following Offaly’s sensational win over two time defending provincial champions Dublin.
Bryant proved to be too strong for the Dublin defence and the talented forward scored six points in the final. The faithful county boss Declan Kelly has been awarded the EirGrid U20 manager of the province award after leading his team to an historic win as they claimed their first U20 provincial title since 1995.
After a stellar performance in the provincial final, David Buckley has been presented with the Munster EirGrid U20 player of the province award. Man of the match Buckley was unmarkable and tallied up an impressive 10 points on the day.
Cork boss Keith Ricken picked up the Munster EirGrid U20 Manager of the Province award for the second time in three years. The skilful Rebels put in a solid performance against Tipperary claiming their second Munster title during Ricken’s three years in charge.
Goalkeeper, Charlie Smyth was rewarded for his efforts in the Ulster Championship by being named as the EirGrid U20 Player of the Province.
It was a match filled with emotion following the tragic passing of Monaghan captain Brendán Óg Ó Dufaigh.
Smyth played a crucial role in the nail-biting final that went to extra time but Down edged ahead and came out victorious. It was a successful provincial championship for Conor Laverty in his first year in charge as Down collected their first piece of U20 provincial silverware since 2009.
