Grass roots clubs set to recieve bonaza

JP McManus is set to donate €32 million to GAA clubs across the country.

McManus is set to donate €1 million to every county board to be distributed to clubs for grass roots development.

Extra.ie, first reported the story, stating the donation from the JP McManus Charitable Foundation is to be evenly divided between GAA, camogie and ladies football clubs.

Whereas, McManus donated €100,000 to every county board in 2018, in a similar gesture. McManus was celebrating Limerick's first All-Ireland hurling title in 45-years.

GAA top brass have yet to receive official confirmation, however it is expected an announcement is imminent. However, Limerick county board have already welcomed the donatation.

There will be a dramatic difference in the distribution of monies across the country. Dublin currently has 134 club registered, while counties such as Monaghan have a smaller number of clubs.

There has been no confirmation on the finer details of the grant from McManus and if any terms and conditions will apply.
