Longford Slashers cruised to a second successive Droplink Longford ladies senior football title following a 2-15 to 1-9 win over Carrickedmond.
Slashers led by six points to five at the break before a superb individual display from Kate Shannon helped them to a nine-point victory.
The defending champions settled quicker opening up a three-point lead inside nine minutes with Jessica Barry (two) and Kara Shannon on target.
The South Longford women finally got off the mark in the tenth minute as two points from Lauren McGuire saw them reduce the margin to a single point at the first water break.
The teams subsequently traded two points each leaving the smallest margin between them at the break.
Carrickedmond began the second half in explosive fashion as Lauren McGuire scored the opening goal of the game shortly after the restart.
Slashers responded swiftly as Kate Shannon found the net four minutes later restoring a two-point cushion.
Conor Clarke’s side then started to dominate completely outscoring their opponents by 1-6 to no score in the next 17 minutes.
Kate Shannon chipped in with 1-3 during this period and a final tally of 2-5 from play saw her crowned player of the match.
A point each from Lauren McGuire and Sarah Shannon ended the barren spell for Carrickedmond but Slashers still had three goals to spare at full-time resulting in back to back titles for the girls in blue and white.
