“Day three of the championship in a group like this, is turning day for some clubs” explaind Dempsey. “Carrickedmond are a tough outfit and well coached. So that first half performance I was really happy with”.
While the first-half performance was excellent, the second-half performance was ragged. Killoe hitting numerous wides and recording a disallowed goal for a square-ball.
“If we were a point or two down, I don’t think Mickey Quinn would have squared the ball to Ciaran Donohoe. It gave the umpire a doubt in his head” explained Dempsey.
“It was a perfect goal in my opinion, but I’m more concerned about the injury to James Moran” added Dempsey. Moran leaving the field on a stretcher with a suspected knee injury.
Killoe sit atop group two of the Peter Hanley Motors Longford SFC. They’re two remaining games in the group stage are meetings with Mullinalaghta and Abbeylara. However, Killoe have already booked a quarter-final place.

“There is no tougher game to learn about you’re players than the rematch of the league final against Mullinalaghta” concluded Dempsey.
