Championship will get underway this weekend in Ladies football with the Ulster competition throwing in. On Friday evening Armagh the defending champions will get their campaign underway when they face Monaghan at the Athletic grounds at 7:30. These 2 sides will be familiar with each other having already met in the league with the Farney side registering a victory, while they are also scheduled to meet in the All Ireland series next month. Saturday will see Donegal been the visitors to Kingspan Breffni to face Cavan at 5pm. With the provincial competition been re-scheduled last year, the Tir Chonail side did not compete, but have made a return this year having been the champions in 2019.
Cavan's Aishling Sheridan is set to return to the AFLW for next season have extended her contract with Collingwood. The Breffni forward who starred for the Magpies in the AFLW is currently lining out for her county but believes even more Irish players will make the move down under over the coming years
The Ladies Lidl league, will draw to a conclusion over the next 2 weekends. This Sunday will see Tyrone and Wexford contest the Division 2 relegation play off with Fermanagh and Wicklow in the Division 3 play off . The finals will throw in on the weekend of the 26th/27th of June and will see a double header in Croke Park as Kerry take on Meath in the Division 2 decider followed by the meeting of Dublin and Cork. St Tiernachs Park Clones will host the Division 4 final between Louth and Leitrim with Laois and Kildare facing each other in the Division 3 final.
