Armagh came back from behind to beat Westmeath with a late goal in the All-Ireland championship.
Westmeath looked set for a surprise victory over the Ulster runner-up leading 1-10 to 10 points with five minutes remaining.
The 2022 Tailteann Cup champions were the stronger for the majority, leading 1-7 to seven at half-time. Ronan O’Toole finding the Armagh net on the 12 minute mark.
Armagh looked leggy in the second-half, whereas a fresh Westmeath bossed possession in the second-half.
However, Armagh weren’t done in the Athletic grounds. Rian O'Neill fluffed his shot, but Andrew Murnin pushed the ball into Conor Turbitt's path, who buried the ball with two minute remaining.
John Heslin converted a free 60 seconds later, to level the game. However, Murnin and Ciaran Mackin put Armagh two ahead.
Westmeath’s Luke Loughlin kicked a 45 wide, before Heslin converted a late free. It wasn’t enough though as Armagh won out 1-13 to 1-12.
