Andy Moran masterminded a maiden victory as Leitrim boss following a 2-16 to 2-8 triumph over Tipperary at FBD Semple Stadium in Allianz football league division four.
The visitors led eight points to five at the half-time break before a dominant second-half display resulted in a convincing victory.
The sides were deadlocked at five points each on the half-hour mark; Riordan O’Rourke registered one point while Keith Beirne accounted for the remainder of Leitrim’s tally.
Leitrim followed up with three unanswered points as Andy Moran’s men led by the same margin at the half-time break.
Leitrim doubled the gap six minutes into the second half when James Rooney found the net and four more points in succession made it a ten-point game on 51 minutes.
Tipperary needed a response and up stepped Conor Sweeney who registered two goals in five minutes. Leitrim now led by five points with nine minutes remaining.
Leitrim finished with a flourish hitting 1-2 in the closing stages; Tom Prior scoring their second goal with six minutes left as Andy Moran’s men ran out convincing winners.
