Leitrim County board held their convention last night (Mon 13th) and it was good news on the financial front as the treasurers report noted a year ending surplus of over €300,000 with the fund raising ventures of Win a Wedding and the 50 miles in January returning a total of €288, 820. Total expenditure came in at a little over €789, 000 euro up over €30,000 on 2020. In his address chairman Enda Stenson who along with the other members of his executive were returned unopposed for the coming year, thanked all those who had contributed to the county over the past year, and had a word in in particular for former intercounty senior manager Terry Hyland who had completed a 3 year term and also wished the newly appointed Andy Moran and his backroom staff the best for the coming year. He also repeated an appeal that has been common at conventions this year to show and give respect to referees involved in all codes of the GAA as well as thanking all those officials who have taken charge of games and he also expressed his disappointment at what he preceived from Special Congress was having "no heed of the weaker counties" and his hope that change would come to pass at the next congress.
