Leitrim hurling manager Olcan Conway claims the GAA is trying to cut-off life support to the sport in the county.
Conway has joined the counties opposed to a Central Council motion which would expel five counties from the Allianz League to focus only on the Lory Meagher Cup.
Indeed, Fermanagh and Louth have already voiced their opposition to the move. Conway says Leitrim hurling has been made to feel expendable.
The Leitrim senior hurling manager took to facebook to make a statement about the proposal. Conway also took aim at Leitrim county board treasurer Martin McCartin.
In an interview with the Sunday World, McCartin said the net cost for running the inter-county hurling team was €80,000. Whereas, McCartin said the total cost of running the team was €215,000.
