Leitrim collected their second win of the season with a 2-17 to 1-13 win over Waterford in Fraher field.
Keith Beirne had his shooting boots on as he sent over 11 points and found the net as Leitrim recorded an important win.
Beirne sent over the first three points as Leitrim led three to nil after 12 minutes. Three further Bierne points and one form Paul Keaney saw Leitrim lead seven to two after 22 minutes.
Waterford battled back with six points, but a Tom Prior point and two from Beirne saw Leitrim lead 10 to eight at half-time.
Two minutes in to the second-half and Waterford led for the first time thanks to a Darragh Corcoran goal.
Prior, Corcoran and Beirne exchanged points as the sides were level on 46 minutes. A Beirne point and a Prior goal moved Leitrim four clear four minutes later.
From there Leitrim found their wings points from Beirne, Jack Heslin, Ryan O’Rourke kept Leitrim ahead 1-16 to 1-12.
Darragh Rooney sealed the victory with a goal four minutes into injury time. Beirne added a point with Waterford getting the final score from a free.
The 2-17 to 1-13 victory see’s Leitrim sit in fourth place in division four with four points, level with Sligo who have a game in hand.
