Leitrim Ladies won the Connacht Intermediate championship after a 1-14 to 14 point win over Roscommon.
Roscommon that got off to the better start after getting the first four points of the game. Michelle Guckian responded with Leitrim’s first three scores.
Roscommon went on to get two more points, before Leitrim full-forward Leah Fox got the only goal of the game. Both sides traded a point each before half-time. The sides were even 1-4 to 0-7.
The second-half opened similar to the first. Roscommon finding the first point before Leitrim would get three unanswered points by Megan McGovern and two from Leah Fox. Leaving the score 1-7 to 0-8.
Michelle Guckian scored four points in a row for Leitrim. Roscommon would then get back-to-back scores before Guckian continued her momentum and got Leitrim’s last three scores of the afternoon to win game 1-14 to 0-14 and to become Connacht champions.
