Leitrim ladies snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as they landed a 1-12 to 1-11 win over Fermanagh in Ballinamore.
Michelle Guickan’s kicked an equalising point on the 60th minute with Guickan sending over a free in injury time to seal the one point win.
Fermanagh were much the better team in the first half and in fact missed two penalties in the match. Fermanagh had led 1-8 to five points at half-time.
Early in the second-half Laura O’Dowd found the Fermanagh net and sparked a Leitrim comeback with Guickan scoring late on to secure the victory.
Leitrim face Clare in round two of the championship next weekend.
