Back-to-back wins is not something the Leitrim faithful are used to.
It’s something Andy Moran is desperately trying to add to his Leitrim side as they head to Dr Cullen Park on Sunday.
Moran preached his side’s requirement for consistency after the victory over Tipperary. That was met with disheartening defeat to London.
In the build-up to this second away trip in a-row, Moran has asked for his side to more consistent in the 70 minutes. Consistency is something Leitirm have always struggled with.
In the broader picture a win here for Moran’s men could be a real shot in the arm. Sligo face London at the same time on Sunday. A London defeat will open the door for a Leitrim push, especially if Cavan beat Tipperary.
It’s expected that Cavan will take top spot in division four but the race for second place could be very lively indeed.
Leitrim last trip to Carlow was back in 2018. Carlow were on a high and this was probably was low point of Benny Guickan’s reign.
On a horrible February evening Carlow cruised to a 2-11 to five point win. There are two differences this time around Leitrim are better and Carlow are worse.
Don’t under rate the Carlow side however. The win over Waterford should have been expected but was still taken.
Elements won’t favour fancy football on Sunday. That will play in Carlow’s favour.
