The Leitrim minor footballers opened their Connacht championship campaign with a 2-16 to 0-6 defeat to Mayo at Ballina.
The hosts led 0-9 to 0-2 at the half-time break and the same margin separated the sides with 12 minutes remaining.
Leitrim failed to score thereafter and late goals from Ronan Clarke and Diarmuid Duffy helped Mayo to a comfortable victory.
