The Wicklow footballers require a new manager, just four games into the Allianz League season. Colin Kelly stepped down last night, citing a change in work commitments. Wicklow who's surprise defeat of Cavan in the play off last year seen the Breffni county relegated are bottom of Division Three, following three defeats and a draw, and welcome Laois to Aughrim in eleven days' time. It is a weekend off from the football league for the majority of the teams with a number of fixtures that were postponed in Round 3 set to be held. Division 4 currently sees Cavan top of the table with a game in hand and unbeaten. They will face Sligo this Sunday in Markievicz park at 2pm in their re-scheduled round 3 fixture. The Yeats county suffered a first defeat last weekend when they went down to Tipperary, while London who were also unbeaten in the opening 3 rounds lost out to Wexford. Those defeats not only have Cavan in a prime position to be promoted but it has also brought Leitrim back in with a chance to make the step up. A victory over Waterford on Sunday past came on the back of a disappointing loss to London, but manager Andy Moran noted that while that result had disappointed them there was positives that they had taken from it
Next up for Leitrim is a trip away to Carlow on Sunday week.
