Leitrim claimed their first win of their Allianz hurling league division 3B campaign beating Lancashire 2-18 to 0-17 at Avantmoney Pairc Sean MacDiarmada.
The hosts made a blistering start leading 1-6 to no score after 18 minutes. Conor Beirne scoring 1-1 inside the first few minutes.
Lancashire eventually settled. The visitors managed a late first-half rally but Leitrim led 1-11 to 0-9 at half-time
The hosts were six points clear 13 minutes into the second-half when Lancashire were reduced to 14 men. Shane Nugent receiving a second yellow card.
The hosts made the advantage count on the scoreboard. Dhani Keane added a second goal heading into the injury time as Leitrim ran out comfortable winners.
The wins leaves Leitrim third in the league table, level with Longford on three points. Elsewhere Fermanagh beat Warwickshire 1-19 to 2-5 in Brewster Park. Fermanagh top the table with four points.
