Leona Maguire is back in action today (Wednesday 21st) after her 2nd place finish in Hawaii at the weekend. The Cavan golfer has been showing a fine run of form in the LPGA since the start of the year and will looking to continue that when she tees off at the Hugel-Air Premia LA Open at the Wilshire Country Club. Her recent runner up finish at the Lotte Championship seen her move inside the top 100 in the Rolex Women's World Rankings and also keeps her well in contention for the Rookie of the year award, which was deferred from last year due to Covid 19. A place on the European Solheim Cup team is also a focus with skipper Catriona Matthew, having a number of wild card picks at her disposal and would no doubt be impressed with the form of the Ballyconnell native of late. It has been a busy couple of weeks for Leona but her sister Lisa noted that she would have a break after this weeks tournament
