Lisa O’Rourke has won World Championship gold over Helena Panguane of Mozambique.
Three judges scored the tight first round 10-9 for O’Rourke with two judges giving the bout to Panguane.
The second round was very close with two judges scoring the bout a draw.
O’Rourke fought smart in the final round, continuing to bounce and move around the ring and landing a number of good left hands.
Panguane wasn’t to be outdone however and traded some aggressive blows in the final stages of the round.
O’Rourke’s hand was raised in the red corner with four judges giving her the victory. The Algerian judged scored the bout 30:26 to Panguane, giving all three rounds to the silver medallist.
