Longford grabbed a semi-final place in the Lory Meagher cup after fighting back to seal a 1-16 to 19 draw with Monaghan in Inniskeen.
Joe O’Brien’s 23rd minute goal was decisive as Monaghan had built up a head of steam leading seven points to three before O’Brien’s goal.
Monaghan led by four at half-time 10 points to 1-3, Joe O’Brien inspired a Longford comeback in the second half finished the day with 1-8, four of those from frees.
Longford progress to the Lory Meagher Cup semi-final after their heavy victory over Louth in round one. Derek Frehill’s side will face either Monaghan or Fermanagh in the semi-final.
