Longford recorded their first win of the Allianz League division 3B season with an impressive win over Warwickshire.
Longford ran out 2-21 to 1-15 winners in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park. The Longford side having led 2-9 to 0-7 at half-time.
Michael Mulcahy two first-half goals in total scoring 2-3 before being withdrawn with a facial injury.
Jack Grealish’s goal brought Warwickshire back to within four points, before Longford scored four points in-a-row to seal victory. The result see’s Longford with three points after last week’s draw with Lancashire. Longford’s next game is against Leitrim on March ninth
Meanwhile, Leitrim fell to a heavy 1-26 to 1-5 defeat to Fermanagh 1-26 at Philly McGuinness Park, Ballinamore.
Fermanagh powered ahead in the first half leading 1-9 to 0-2 at half-time. The Fermanagh goal coming from Jimmy Tormey. Clement Cunniffee and Conor Hackett with the Leitrim points.
The hosts grabbed a goal on the 59th minute, adjuged to be an own goal off the Fermanagh keeper.
Gavin O’Hagan saw red after a second yellow card in the final minutes as Leitrim fell to a 21-point defeat.
Leitrim host Lancashire in round three on Saturday February 24th.
