Longford bowed out of the All-Ireland minor championship after a heavy defeat to Armagh.
Armagh scored a big 1-16 to 1-3 victory in Kingspan Breffni as Armagh advanced to the All-Ireland semi-final.
Diarmuid O’Rourke opened the scoring in just the second minute for Armagh. James Hagan levelled the game within 60 seconds.
Armagh went three points clear through points from Shea Loughran and Keelan McEntee. Luke Donnelly made it a two point game on 15 minutes.
However, Donnelly rattled the Armagh net 60 seconds later to put Longford 1-2 to four points ahead. However, that was as good as it got for Longford. It would take 35 minutes for the Leinster champions to register another score.
Two McEntee points either side of Diarmuid O’Rourke put Armagh seven points to 1-2 ahead. Loughran rattled the Longford net on the stroke of half-time as Armagh led 1-7 to 1-2 at half-time.
There was no second-half bounce for Longford this time around. Eoin Duffy, Loughran (2) and McEntee put Armagh 1-11 to 1-2 clear.
A Joe Hagan free on 51 minutes was the only Longford score of the second-half. Loughran (2), Wilson and McEntee put the gloss on the 13 point Armagh victory.
