Longford CCC have overturned the appeal won by Carrickedmond in the infamous "ghost point" game.
Shannonside Sport understands Longford CCC won their appeal to Croke Park on Wednesday night, after Carrickedmond had won an appeal at the Leinster council on Saturday.
Carrickedmond appealed the decision of the Longford CCC to award the “ghost point” game to Mullinalaghta, to the Leinster council. The Leinster council hearing authority heard that appeal on Saturday morning (September 14).
However, the Longford CCC subsequently appealed the Leinster CHA decision to Croke Park. That hearing took place on Wednesday night September 18.
Shannonside Sport understand, Croke Park have over-ruled the Leinster CHA decision. In effect, up-holding the original decision of the Longford CCC.
The official ruling documentation has yet to be delivered to all parties.
However, this would mean that the next route of appeal open to Carrickedmond would be through the disputes resolution authority.
