Longford collected their second win of this year’s Allianz league campaign with an 11-point win over London.
Longford ran out 3-12 to 1-10 winners, however were unconvincing in the first-half. It took some 16 minutes for the hosts to register a score.
London had ran up a two points to no score lead at this stage. Two Paddy Dolan points were on the board before Daniel Mimnagh registered the host’s first score.
Darren Gallagher and Mimnagh fired over points as the midlanders led for the first time with 23 minutes played. Joe Hagan pushed Longford further ahead four minutes later.
Dessie Reynolds rattled the back of the London net three minutes before the break with Hagan adding a point as Longford led 1-5 to four points.
Keelin McGann grabbed asecond goal of the game for Paddy Christie's side right after the restart.
A goal from Liam Gallagher in the 43rd minute pulled London back into the game, however, Paddy Christie’s men shown real spine.
As London fought back, a Dessie Reynolds point kept Longford five points in front. When Daniel Mimnagh grabbed a Longford goal from nothing the game was up.
The midlanders winning out 3-12 to 1-10 to claim back-to-back wins for the first time in this league campaign.
The wins moves Longford to fourth place in Allianz League division four. Paddy Christie’s side are tied on points with Wexford and two points behind Leitrim who visit Glennon Brothers Pearse Park on Sunday.
Whereas, Laois lead division four with eight points from four games.
