A midlands derby and this one is real tester for Billy O’Loughlin’s Longford who go in search of their first win of the season.
Longford looked to have bounced back from a poor opening defeat to Limerick. Alas a last gasp Daniel Mulroy free stole a point for Louth.
Westmeath have found their feet quickly beating off Wicklow and swatting away Laois.
This is one is an acid test for Longford. Never happy to lose to Westmeath a win maybe beyond the Longford men, who had Keelin McGrath named man of the match in Thursday’s Fresher one final when his DCU DÉ side beat UCC.
The performance and the attitude of O’Loughlin’s side will be key in this one and will set the tone for the second-half of the league campaign.
