Fermanagh finished the game stronger to record a four-point victory.

The Longford hurlers missed out on a division 3b title losing 2-18 to 1-17 to Fermanagh in the Allianz hurling league final at Avant Money Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada.

Fermanagh led 1-12 to 1-11 at the break before Longford were reduced to ten men on the hour mark. Fermanagh capitalised and ran out four-point winners.

Longford started the game better and led 1-7 to 0-5 on 18 minutes; an early goal from Joe O’Brien helping the Leinster outfit to a five-point lead.

The sides traded a point each early in the second half before an Emmet Corrigan point levelled matters again on 44 minutes.

Points from Paddy Lynam, David Buckley and Joe O’Brien gave Longford a three-point lead with 13 minutes to go only for Lynam to be sent off three minutes later.
