The Longford hurlers defeated Lancashire 0-18 to 0-10 in their Allianz hurling division 3b clash at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
Longford led 0-11 to 0-5 at the break. Paddy Lynam (five), Reuben Murray (three), Dan Crossan, Ronan Sheehan and Cathal Mullane on target for the hosts.
Three successive scores saw Longford move nine points clear on 45 minutes. Conor Kennedy was sent off two minutes later leaving Lancashire with 14 men.
The visitors responded by hitting five of the next nine scores but Longford still ran out convincing winners in the end.
