Longford reached the Allianz hurling league division 3b final following a 1-26 to 2-13 victory over Leitrim at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.
The sides were deadlocked at 0-8 to 1-5 on 16 minutes with Joe Murray finding the net for the visitors just after the throw-in.
Six points on the trot saw Longford lead by the same margin on 25 minutes before the sides traded two points as the hosts led 0-16 to 1-7 at half-time.
Longford moved eight points clear within two minutes of the restart when Emmet Corrigan found the net and Leitrim’s task became even more difficult less than a minute later when Joe Murray was sent off.
On 57 minutes, a Reuben Murray point saw Longford move 12 points clear but two minutes later it was back to a nine-point game when James Mc Nabola found the net.
The sides traded three points each thereafter as Longford ran out ten-point winners. Adrian Moran’s men will now play Fermanagh in the division 3b final next week.
