The Longford minor footballers tasted defeat at the hands of Kildare losing 2-12 to 1-8 in the Leinster minor football championship at Newbridge.
Longford held at the upper hand at the break leading 1-4 to 0-4; Paddy Moran’s goal on nine minutes separating the sides.
Kildare’s Ben Loakman converted a penalty two minutes into the second half and he added another penalty goal with three minutes remaining to give the Lilywhites a seven-point lead.
