Our U18 girls were in Midlands League action and recorded a 33-22 win on the road against the Kildare Gliders

Under 16 Boys

Team green faced third placed Carrick Panthers in the LLR in the mall on Saturday.

After an even first quarter Carrick surged into a 15-point lead heading into the final-quarter.

However a remarkable comeback by Phoenix Green saw them level the game with less than two minutes to go. The lead then changed hands on three further occasions before Carrick prevailed on a 49-50 score-line.

Team White had a demanding three-game schedule this weekend. Eight players travelled to Athlone on Friday evening.

After a poor showing against this team a few weeks ago in Longford, this was a better overall performance. Although Athlone stretched their lead to 16 at one point, they never got away, as Phoenix had pegged them back to just six points late on.

However, they always did enough to just stay out of reach and triumphed 51-40 in an entertaining fixture.

On Saturday, Phoenix White were involved in a very close game against Carrick, played at a very good standard. At times Phoenix played some very good offense and defended well throughout.

However, Carrick always seemed to have the answer to the questions being asked of them. Phoenix shaded the first-quarter by three. Carrick won the second-quarter by four and an exciting third-quarter was even.

Four three-pointers in the fourth-quarter from Phoenix weren’t enough to take the win with Carrick winning out 53-58.

On Sunday, an understrength squad travelled to Newbridge for a Midland Leage fixture against Kildare Gliders. Unfortunately the home team came out on top 52-46 in another close game.

Under 16 Girls

Our Fire team eased to victory over their Carrick opponents winning by 55 points to 29.

Our Fury team were involved in a nail biting contest that went to overtime with Carrick coming out on top by 43 points to 37.

Under 12 Girls

It was a successful trip to Boyle last Thursday night for our Under 12 girl’s team as they defeated the home side by seven points in their LLR match.
